Elmo Gets His Rally Advanced Title!!!

Elmo, with the help of Marianne, completed the requirements to get his rally advance title on March 21st, 2010! Great job to you both! We’re so proud of you!

“We just returned from a show in Greenville, SC. Elmo had a great time- loved the cool weather and the mountains. He competed in Rally advanced for the first real time and he got his first leg with a qualifying score of 88. He would have qualified the second day too if it weren’t for that dachshund nose of his and his desire to smell the other 200+ dogs that had been in the ring the day before- oh well- I was proud of him anyway. It is difficult to get the titles when you go off lead. He loves to take the jumps now.”

Elmo Updates

Marianne sent updates on Elmo and a picture of his new buddy, Jasper, who will be on the flyball team with him! Here is what Marianne said, “Last week Elmo tried Rally advanced for the first time. The first day it took me three attempts to get him over the jump and so he did not qualify. The second day he did awesome but his stupid handler messed up! He went over the jump first shot the second day. The judge said he would have qualified if I hadn’t taken a step during the pivot. Bummer! By the way- rally advanced is all off lead so it is really challenging. I am going to take advantage of the time off from shows (next obedience show isn’t until August) to get him neutered. Since I am not showing conformation and it is better health wise- I decided it was time”

Paige Settling in to Her New Home!

We got updates from Paige’s new mom, Susan. She says, “Hey, sorry I meant to contact you over the weekend but time got away from me. Miss Paige is settling in pretty well . She is the “princess” of all she sees and has made herself at home in my bed and on the sofa! She has snuggling down to an art form. The first night she slept on my chest. She has also done pretty well with her leash ‘walkies’. Mom and I just adore her and I’ll send pics when I get them.”

We are so glad to hear that Paige is settling in and having a lovely new life with her new family! We miss you Paige but are very happy for you!

Lily 1 Year Updates

We got some updates from Gayle on Lily! Lily is doing great! Gayle says, “Just wanted to let you know that she is doing just fine and we love her so much and as with the other doxie she too is now spoiled but she is such a good dog and it is hard to believe that is has been over a yr that we brought her home — I know she is happy and now wants to go bye bye all the time at first she was a little scared of the car but now she wants to go everytime she hears the keys rattl.”

Yay Lily! We are so happy you are living the life of Riley!

Flyball Team in the Making!

Elmo has been recruited into a flyball team that is forming. He and the other pups are in training and should be ready to compete next year! The team consists of Elmo (a dachshund of course), a toller, a border collie and his soon to be new “cousin” Jasper (a whippet)!

We are hoping that perhaps his mom will take some pictures and videos of his training and later the actual events so we can show him off!

Elmo’s Conformation Show Results 4-4-09

April 4th weekend in St. Augustine at the Greater Orange County show - Elmo finished first in American Bred Dogs both days. Though he was beaten in the winners dog competition for the points. Good job on the wins little buddy! Sorry you didn’t get winners dog for the points! :^(
